Satanic Perspective: Literal vs. Symbolic

Why can't Satanists ever agree?

There is currently, and most likely always will be division between Satanic organizations. However, the question is posed as to why this is so. The CoS says that the ToS and and others are riding on the coat tails of Lavey, and then the reply back is that there were never any coat tails to ride on in the first place. Still, others maintain that Lavey simply copied from Nietzsche and Crowley.

Traditional Satanists consider Laveyan or symbolic Satanists mockeries while the symbolic Satanists consider literal Satanists as rebelling Christians in a sense, caught up in the good vs. evil dogma. What it all boils down to though, is that few Satanists regard any other variety as in any way valid, or that they are fools. Simply put, no matter what kind it is, it refines down to that the self is divine; Seeing that, we can manipulate the world around us and resist the lies of the Christian Church.

While the literal and symbolic Satanists may not agree as to who or what Satan is, or how to perform ritual, both strive forward and against the rules imposed by Jehovah. Whether or not it really is a deity, or a mere construction of the human mind, its rules are the shackles that chain mankind from progress. The likelihood of finding two Satanists that have the exact same opinions and stances is slim. The reason why is because Satanism is a self-based philosophy/religion.

Recognizing that Satanists are supposed to be individuals is vital for our ability to get anything done. Certainly Satanism is about strength, but a person who has many to watch his back is stronger than the one that is on his own. The Satanist is not weaker for having allies, but stronger. Realize that when we must stand to defend ourselves, we are stronger united against our enemies, allowing us to not just defeat, but to obliterate them. Let us fight against the sheep, instead of quarreling amongst ourselves.
